These great sounding doumbeks are made by Conrad's lovely lady Jen. She is a master potter offering classes on the wheel at Tyler State Park in Newtown, PA. Each has a different color and design and can be made to order. The goat skin is permanently attached and is not tunable, but we find that they sound good during all but the most humid days. The doumbek is used to play traditional middle-eastern rhythms and are a great addition to any hand drummers collection. The doumbek is a small (about 8 inch head and about 14 inches high) that is perfect in spiritual sound circles, chanting accompaniment and of course middle eastern dance and music. |
